Lithium is a soft metal with silver white appearance. The element symbol is Li. The density is 0.534 g/cm3. The melting point is 180 °C. The molecular weight is 6.94. The boiling point is 1340 ℃. Lithium has high charge density and stable helium type double electron layer, which makes it easy to polarize other molecules or ions, but not easy to polarize itself.
