Sputtering target refers to the raw materials used to prepare thin films by sputtering. Sputtering is one of the main technologies for the preparation of thin film materials. It uses ions generated by ion source to accelerate the aggregation in vacuum to form ion beam with high speed energy, bombard the solid surface, and exchange kinetic energy between ions and atoms on the solid surface, so that the atoms on the solid surface are separated from the solid and deposited on the substrate surface. Sputtering target can be used in semiconductor integrated circuit, solar photovoltaic, recording medium, plane display and workpiece surface coating.

Silver is a white lustrous metal with atomic number of 47 and its atomic structure is face centered cubic structure. The melting point of silver is 961 ℃, the boiling point is 2163 ℃, and the density is 10.5g/cm3. Silver sputtering target is a kind of high purity metal target used for sputtering deposition of thin films.
